The Old Roof- Therefore, it could be wise to have your roof inspected by roofing experts if your home is older or approaching this number of years and you have never had it changed.

Broken or Absent shingles-Shingles that are missing, cracked, or ripped expose your building to the weather and create gaps in the roof.  Small leaks that you haven’t yet discovered may already exist.

Buckling or Curled Shingles-Your roof’s shingles must be level and flat.  Therefore, the underlayment being moist and wrinkled is the reason for any shingle curling or buckling.  You should think about having your shingles fixed if you observe them buckling, curling, or cupping.

Shingle Balding-You have a serious roofing emergency if you discover balding shingles or numerous shingle fragments in your gutter. The likelihood of leaks increases with the length of time this issue lasts.

Roof Valley Corrosion-The channeling system which runs parallel to the inner angles of the roof is known as the roof valleys.  It may eventually crumble, particularly if they catch leaves and dirt.  Rainwater will eventually overflow and leak onto your roof due to the incorrect drainage caused by these obstructions. 

Growth of Mold or Moss on Your Roof-Moss absorbs and retains water like a sponge. 

Ceiling Stains-If you notice brown patches, rings, or stains on your ceiling, it’s an inside indication which your roof needs to be repaired or replaced.  They should be taken seriously if they get bigger or darker following rain.

Water Damage and a Leaky Roof-There is a chance of a short circuit and consequent fire when water seeps into and soaks non-waterproof electrical wire, ceiling lights, junction boxes, etc.  Small leaks must be found and fixed quickly to prevent more serious harm.

Soft and Rotten Roof Sheathing-There will be major structural problems when a roof sheathing has rotted through or softened since it will not be able to sustain the weight of the roof.  Keep in mind that roof sheathing rot cannot be repaired; it needs to be replaced entirely.

You Can See the Sunlight Through the Roofing Boards-Keep in mind that rain can enter your roof just as easily as sunlight.  Something is amiss if there is even a small quantity of daylight coming through the ceiling.
